Profiles

The Asia Mobile Network Operators Directory contains individual profiles for each of the 121 MNOs covered. These profiles provide readers with the brand and company name as well as contact information; including URLs, switchboard telephone numbers, fax and address details. Profiles also detail who owns the operation and the network technology being utilised as well as Q1 2011 subscriber data.

Management

Readers find it helpful to have a warm lead to work with when contacting MNOs. Included within the MNO profiles you will find a section detailing senior managers identified by the researcher team. These management contacts are taken from the executive management team and focus upon CEOs, CTOs, CMOs and CFOs. The directory also includes some people within other senior roles. From both of th Asia and Pacific files, 150 of the 159 profiles contain at least 1 named management contact. These people are a proven vital stepping stone in making contact with the key decision makers within niche departments.

The directory does not provide direct lines or e-mail addresses. Direct lines change too easily and e-mail is easily filtered. This directory is aimed at professionals with genuine offers requiring a one to one conversation to enable a quality client relationship.

Q1 2011 subs data

The joint Asia Pacific Mobile Network Operators Directory provides subscriber data at an operator level for the Q1 2011 period, being March 2011. The directory provides total mobile subscriber numbers for 135 of the MNOs included. The following territories are either not covered or are only covered in part: Laos, Macau, Guam, Micronesia, Northern Mariana Islands – Saipan, Okinawa, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Data for each operator for the remaining 39 (Asia and Pacific) countries is presently comprehensively.

All subscriber data has been researched from company and regulator resources; mainly official reports and releases. Estimates have been made where operators refuse to publish their data but reliable other data exists and reasonable estimates are possible.

Research Process

The 1st edition of the Blycroft MNO Directory was published in 2006. Each year the database has been updated in full with new operations added, defunct and merged ones removed as well as the contents of each profile being individually updated. This is the main claim of quality about the directory series, being that the main database is an ongoing project since 2006, but crucially with each new edition receiving a complete update operator by operator update.

Stage one of the update consists of updating the database with new operations and removing or amending those which have been bought out or merged into others. The research team focuses on an industry news review which takes in various telecommunication publications that have been archived specifically for this. These articles provide a lot of new data in terms of network technologies, subscriber numbers and ownership data which all helps to minimise errors within the datasets.

Stage two is the main and critical part of the update. Having updated the dataset the research team now reviews every operation one at a time. The majority of profile data is extracted from company and regulator websites as well as from official reports, results releases and press releases. Information from both industry and wider news sources is taken into consideration as well as conference material, social media applications and direct contact made with operators.

The final stage is a review of the data both in Excel and PDF format.

Blycroft does not accept liability for any losses resulting from purchasing or using this directory and notes that accuracy of information within the directory is based upon information presented by the operators themselves.
