Overview

Emerging into 2012 the Asia Pacific region surpassed 3 billion mobile subscribers; of course 1 billion of those customers came from just China. Not far behind was India with a near 1 billion subscribers at the end of June 2012. Taking those two countries out of the equation the region still has 1.185 billion subscribers in just 47 further territories which averages out as more than 25 million subscribers each.

As with all our database publications, research was conducted in house and has built upon the previous editions. Subscriber data is as at Q2 2012. Subscriber data is as at Q2 2012 and is provided for all territories except the following - Okinawa, Macau, Thailand (TOT and CAT not provided, other operators provided), Guam, Micronesia, Northern Mariana Islands – Saipan, Palau and Tonga. Management contacts are either as published by the operators or have been referenced within trade media. All data, including subscriber data is provided on a where possible basis and is provided to assist in building a profile of each MNO.
